DescriptionA game where a spaceship flies back and forth shooting aliens in space.Know anything more about this game? Click here to contribute a description or other text information. Thanks! Cabinet InformationThe original cabinet is white with a painted picture of the player ship about to shoot a green dragonfly alien from the fleet. The painting is three color: Blue, Green (same as the T-molding) and Black, and uses the entire side area similar to original Pac-Man. This is unlike the restored graphic version shown in the 3D Tour photos.Game IntroductionYou are a space fighter pilot who must shoot wave after wave of aliens that look like dragonflies.Game PlayYou must shoot the aliens and their boss. Here are some tips for shooting the aliens: kill the boss and his two escorts, then shoot them when they are doing a somersault.Hacks- Buglaxian - A hack of the classic

Scarcity in collections (VAPS.org)Very Common - There are 176 known instances of this game owned by one of our 900 members. Of these, 111 of them are original dedicated machines, 7 of them are conversions in which game circuit boards have been placed in another game cabinet, and 58 of them are only circuit boards which a collector could put into a generic case if desired.
Of the 42,694 video games (3,154 unique) tracked by the Video Game Preservation Society, this game ranks a 81 on a scale out of 100 (100 = most commonly seen, 1=least common) in popularity based on ownership records.Wanted - There are 5 VAPS members currently looking for this game. Rarity is NOT necessarily an indication of value. Some common games show up as very rare here because collectors don't want them (they are common because arcade operatos might be sitting on tons of them in warehouses), while some fairly scarce games are grabbed by collectors every time they show up. Additionally, some games made in the last 5 years are still making money for operators and are thus not yet affordable to the typical collector. For a clue to value, compare how many people have this game vs. how many people want this game and then click on the eBay links to help determine an accurate price range. TechnicalThe game uses a Z80 microprocessor. The troubleshooting manual can be found at http://www.erinet.com/jamesm/tech/tech.htmTriviaThis was the first video game released with 100 percent of its graphics displayed in true RGB color. The Galaxian flagship is referred to as the "Galaxip" according to the game's manual, but in the actual game, the "Galaxip" is the player's ship. Notice the first screen after a credit has been inserted says "BONUS GALAXIP AT 4000 PTS". The flagship appears as an attacker on some levels of Galaga. It also shows up as a prize in several other Namco games, but it is not exactly identical. In Pac-Man for instance, the "flagship" is actually an ice cream sundae (look carefully for the differences). eBay ListingsClick here to automatically search eBay's Arcade, Jukebox, and Pinball categories for the Galaxian Videogame machine and items related to it.Click here to automatically search eBay's Arcade, Jukebox, and Pinball categories for machines and parts made by Namco.
