DescriptionA driving game with top-down pseudo 3-D graphics. You can select one of ten cars and depending upon which vehicle has been chosen, you can select the starting point of the race. The game can be installed in a variety of cabinets using either a joystick and buttons or a steering wheel and foot pedals for control.Know anything more about this game? Game IntroductionUnlike older racing games, this game has big graphics. Everything is easy to see and the colors are crisp with lots of background animation.Game PlayYou have 60 seconds to get from the starting line to the finish line. Finishing within 60 seconds allows you to go on to the next race. If you lose, a continue option is available. The screen scrolls fast. The only way you know about a turn coming up is by a little indicator that flashes with a picture of the turn. There are zig-zags, hairpins and all other cool turns, most of which you have to steer into in order to make it though. The play control using a joystick is a little awkward at first, but it becomes comfortable after a while. MiscellaneousAn "Evolution Model" version of this game exists where there are two extra cars to select on the title screen. It seems like an international version because it is called "Great 1000 Miles Rally", with the pluarlization.Scarcity in collections (VAPS.org)Common - There are 40 known instances of this game owned by one of our 900 members. Of these, 4 of them are original dedicated machines, 8 of them are conversions in which game circuit boards have been placed in another game cabinet, and 28 of them are only circuit boards which a collector could put into a generic case if desired.Of the 42,694 video games (3,154 unique) tracked by the Video Game Preservation Society, this game ranks a 22 on a scale out of 100 (100 = most commonly seen, 1=least common) in popularity based on ownership records. Wanted - We currently do not know of any VAPS members that have gotten around to adding this game to their wish list. The wish-list system is fairly new (not all VAPS members have filled one out) and there are probably a number of collectors who might purchase this game if offered one at the right price. Rarity is NOT necessarily an indication of value. Some common games show up as very rare here because collectors don't want them (they are common because arcade operatos might be sitting on tons of them in warehouses), while some fairly scarce games are grabbed by collectors every time they show up. Additionally, some games made in the last 5 years are still making money for operators and are thus not yet affordable to the typical collector. For a clue to value, compare how many people have this game vs. how many people want this game and then click on the eBay links to help determine an accurate price range. TriviaBased on a race that occured yearly between 1927-1938 and 1945-1950 called the 1000 Miglia.eBay ListingsClick here to automatically search eBay's Arcade, Jukebox, and Pinball categories for the Great 1000 Miles Rally Videogame machine and items related to it.Click here to automatically search eBay's Arcade, Jukebox, and Pinball categories for machines and parts made by Kaneko.
