Last Resort DescriptionA horizontally scrolling shoot-em-up where one or two players pilot spacecraft armed with lasers and an external spherical drone. The first level is based over a city with busy roads below that contain destructable cars. Enemy pilots plummet downwards from their craft when destroyed.Know anything more about this game? Game IntroductionA Neo-Geo clone of the R-Type series (one and two) with much improved graphics and sound.Game PlayThe player must guide their spacecraft across horizontally scrolling cityscapes and wastelands, disposing of hordes of enemy spacecraft (some metallic, some organic) including huge mid- and end-level guardians. Power-up pods provide the craft with a moveable drone which can be charged up and fired or locked into position and used as an extra gun or 'battering ram'/shield.Scarcity in collections (VAPS.org)Common - There are 39 known instances of this game owned by one of our 900 members. Of these, 39 of them are only circuit boards which a collector could put into a generic case if desired.Of the 52,048 video games (3,349 unique) tracked by the Video Game Preservation Society, this game ranks a 23 on a scale out of 100 (100 = most commonly seen, 1=least common) in popularity based on ownership records. Wanted - There is one VAPS member currently looking for this game. Rarity is NOT necessarily an indication of value. Some common games show up as very rare here because collectors don't want them (they are common because arcade operators might be sitting on tons of them in warehouses), while some fairly scarce games are grabbed by collectors every time they show up. Additionally, some games made in the last 5 years are still making money for operators and are thus not yet affordable to the typical collector.
