DescriptionYou are a S.T.U.N. Runner doing time trials. Shoot or avoid other vehicles that hinder you while driving the optimal path for best speed. The Shockwave will destroy all adversaries on the screen and the Boost pads give you invulnerability while increasing your speed.Know anything more about this game? Cabinet InformationThe cabinet is painted to resemble a jet powered transport. The body is grey with red openings showing the jet engines beneath. The black stand-up cabinet pictured above is the prototype. According to the game designer, it is one-of-a-kind. Cheats, Tricks and BugsStart out at level 11 (Labyrinth) and complete it. On level 12 (Coathanger) go right and catch the boost and continue going right. You will fly up and then continue and cross the finish line. You will be warped to level 18!Game IntroductionYou are shown the layout of each track at the start of each heat, including locations of Shockwaves and Boost Pads. Shockwaves can also be earned by collecting the number of Stars indicated at the start of each heat. Armoured Drones are indestructable excepting the use of a Shockwave. Some tunnels are under constuction and slow you down considerably if you do not take the optimal path. The shoulders on outdoor portions of the track wear down your shields as well as slow you down. The Ultimate Race is to get farther along the last track than any previous S.T.U.N. Runner. The names of the previous players mark the end distance they achieved.Game PlayYour vehicle automatically accelerates; you turn the yoke left and right to steer. Tilt the yoke forward and back to aim the roof mounted weapon up or down and press the triggers to fire. Press the Start button to release a Shockwave.Scarcity in collections (VAPS.org)Common - There are 35 known instances of this game owned by one of our 900 members. Of these, 34 of them are original dedicated machines, 0 of them are conversions in which game circuit boards have been placed in another game cabinet, and 1 of them are only circuit boards which a collector could put into a generic case if desired.Of the 42,694 video games (3,154 unique) tracked by the Video Game Preservation Society, this game ranks a 17 on a scale out of 100 (100 = most commonly seen, 1=least common) in popularity based on ownership records. Wanted - There are 7 VAPS members currently looking for this game. Rarity is NOT necessarily an indication of value. Some common games show up as very rare here because collectors don't want them (they are common because arcade operatos might be sitting on tons of them in warehouses), while some fairly scarce games are grabbed by collectors every time they show up. Additionally, some games made in the last 5 years are still making money for operators and are thus not yet affordable to the typical collector. For a clue to value, compare how many people have this game vs. how many people want this game and then click on the eBay links to help determine an accurate price range. TechnicalUses a TMS34010 for polygon rendering, along with a ADSP2100, 68010, and Motorola 6502. Uses a Yamaha YM-2151 for sound.eBay ListingsClick here to automatically search eBay's Arcade, Jukebox, and Pinball categories for the S.T.U.N.
