Cabinet Information

This game was released in a dual cabinet that could be linked with another dual cabinet allowing up to eight players to operate in the same space. The typical configuration allowed four simultaneous players to control two ships (pilot and co-pilot versus pilot and co-pilot)

Game Introduction

This game is divided into four areas. In all modes you receive a final Rating Score. However, only by completing all 15 missions do you receive an actual RANK (see Missions 1 thru 15):
  1. Missions 1 thru 15: In this mode the object is to complete each mission by destroying the stated number of enemy ships. The first eight are against a single species opponent and the next six are against a combination of two enemies, while the last stage is a battle against all species/enimies. Upon completing the game you receive a rank based on your final rating. (Finishing the game gives you an extra 200 kills which will improve your overall rating). The ranks that can be obtained are as follows: Cadet, Corporal, Lieutenant, Captain, Admiral, Space Lord. These ranks will be displayed on the high score screen!
  2. Melee: This is a free for all battle, every ship for themselves, where the computer controlled ships also attack each other. In this mode, all linked players can interact and dog fight in the same space.
  3. Team/Vs.: In this mode players can choose to be on the same side or opposing sides and either combat the computer ships or each other. There are no "species" ships from the other modes in this type of combat, only the players and computer controlled "player-style" ships
  4. Modify: This is where you can choose the number of Nukes and Hypers you want your ship to start with whenever you enter any mode of play. You can also adjust Shields, Laser, Agility, and Speed. (Note: by increasing or decreasing the levels of one attribute others decrease/increase as well to keep the ship balanced). By adding a co-pilot you automatically gain one extra Nuke and one extra Hyper; you also gain slightly better attributes.

Scarcity in collections (VAPS.org)

Uncommon - There are 11 known instances of this game owned by one of our 900 members. Of these, 7 of them are original dedicated machines, 0 of them are conversions in which game circuit boards have been placed in another game cabinet, and 4 of them are only circuit boards which a collector could put into a generic case if desired.

Of the 42,694 video games (3,154 unique) tracked by the Video Game Preservation Society, this game ranks a 6 on a scale out of 100 (100 = most commonly seen, 1=least common) in popularity based on ownership records.

Wanted - There are 2 VAPS members currently looking for this game.

Rarity is NOT necessarily an indication of value. Some common games show up as very rare here because collectors don't want them (they are common because arcade operatos might be sitting on tons of them in warehouses), while some fairly scarce games are grabbed by collectors every time they show up. Additionally, some games made in the last 5 years are still making money for operators and are thus not yet affordable to the typical collector. For a clue to value, compare how many people have this game vs. how many people want this game and then click on the eBay links to help determine an accurate price range.
