Tecmo Bowl DescriptionA side-scrolling, four-player American football game that can be played as two-on-two, one-on-two, etc. The game is somewhat primitive in that there is no play pattern selection; only the receiver can be selected before play begins. One player controls the QB, the other plays the wide receiver/running back.Know anything more about this game? Cabinet InformationThe cabinet is very large -- 40-inches wide at the narrowest point and almost 46-inches at widest -- due to the monitor cavern on the removable back panel and the side-by-side monitor configuration. The side panels stick out where the control board rests, making this one impossible to fit through a standard household doorway.Game IntroductionThe most interesting feature of the game is the ability to shake off tacklers. Once an opponent has latched onto you, vigorously shake the joystick to break their tackle. This action provides an excellent workout for the forearms and biceps and also provides for great fun in four-player games.VAPS Arcade CensusGAMES OWNED, WANTED, or FOR SALE BY MEMBERS OF THE VIDEO ARCADE PRESERVATION SOCIETYRare - There are 2 known instances of Tecmo Bowl owned by one of our 900 members. Of these, 2 of them are only circuit boards which a collector could put into a generic case if desired. Wanted - There is one VAPS member currently looking for Tecmo Bowl. Rarity is NOT necessarily an indication of value. Some common games show up as very rare here because collectors don't want them (they are common because arcade operators might be sitting on tons of them in warehouses), while some fairly scarce games are grabbed by collectors every time they show up. Additionally, some games made in the last 5 years are still making money for operators and are thus not yet affordable to the typical collector. For a clue to value, compare how many people have this game vs. how many people want this game and then click on the eBay links to help determine an accurate price range. TechnicalThe monitors are difficult to adjust since you have to make sure the text sizes/locations are adequately matched. Difficult to do at best, especially if the monitors have never been replaced.eBay ListingsClick here to automatically search eBay's Arcade, Jukebox, and Pinball categories for the Tecmo Bowl Videogame machine and items related to it.Click here to automatically search eBay's Arcade, Jukebox, and Pinball categories for machines and parts made by Tecmo.
