DescriptionGuide your brave explorer 'Winky' through the depths of different dungeon levels while collecting 'treasures' from each room and avoiding the dreaded 'Hall Monsters'. Shooting the various room occupants is not necessary, but it will add some additional points to your score.Know anything more about this game? Cabinet InformationThe marquee has the title of the game with a green snake coiled around it. The side art is a picture of the player as a human holding a knife with arrows strapped on his back trying to climb some stairs. At the top of the stairs there are three green snakes coming out of a doorway. 'Winky' does not look too happy.ConversionThis does not have the same pinouts as Targ, due to differing power outputs. Venture uses +5V DC @ 6 amps, -5V DC @ 1amp, +12V DC (HI) @ 3 amps, +12V DC (LO) at 1 amp, -12V DC (HI) at 3 amps, and -12V DC (LO) at 1 amp.Game IntroductionOn the first level, there is The Wall Room, The Serpent Room, The Goblin Room, and The Skeleton Room.On the second level, there is The Spider Room, The Dragon Room, The Two-Headed Room (shaped like the letter Y) and The Troll Room (shaped like the letter T). On the third level, there is The Bat Room, The Genie Room, The Cyclops Room and The Demon Room. In each of the rooms, Winky must steal a treasure while fighting off the attacking monsters with his arrows. Game PlayThe game begins with 'Winky' traveling around the outside of the screen, grabbing an arrow and heading down stairs to the dungeons he is about to explore. Winky, the main player, is a red dot while he is outside the various rooms and a larger red dot with eyes, mouth, and a bow and arrow while in a room. Winky must first enter one of the rooms on the floor while avoiding the 'Hall Monsters'; invincible enemies that circulate outside the rooms trying to catch you.Once in a room the object is to gather up the treasure in that room and escape with your life. In each room there are different opponents such as snakes, goblins and genies that guard the treasure who also try to kill you. You must use your arrows to kill the monsters, but if you stay in a room too long, a Hall Monster will appear and chase after you. Your only option is to escape the room, go to another one later and return later. If you try to go back into the room right after leaving it, the Hall Monster will reenter and kill you. Gathering a treasure from each room will complete the level. Your score is multiplied by a multiplier, depending on how long it took to complete that level, and you are then brought to a new and faster level. I'm not sure how many levels there are as I have never been able to get past the 4th. The game is simple, but very challenging. Scarcity in collections (VAPS.org)Common - There are 36 known instances of this game owned by one of our 900 members. Of these, 28 of them are original dedicated machines, 1 of them are conversions in which game circuit boards have been placed in another game cabinet, and 7 of them are only circuit boards which a collector could put into a generic case if desired.Of the 42,694 video games (3,154 unique) tracked by the Video Game Preservation Society, this game ranks a 22 on a scale out of 100 (100 = most commonly seen, 1=least common) in popularity based on ownership records. Wanted - There are 2 VAPS members currently looking for this game. Rarity is NOT necessarily an indication of value. Some common games show up as very rare here because collectors don't want them (they are common because arcade operatos might be sitting on tons of them in warehouses), while some fairly scarce games are grabbed by collectors every time they show up. Additionally, some games made in the last 5 years are still making money for operators and are thus not yet affordable to the typical collector. For a clue to value, compare how many people have this game vs. how many people want this game and then click on the eBay links to help determine an accurate price range.
