The following 4 companies often have a selection of modern coin-op videogames, pinballs, and redemption machines:
Super Auctions hosts auctions of (primarily) video-games and pinball machines in California,
Florida, Georgia, Texas, Michigan, Misoursi, New Jersey, Oklahoma, and Wisconsin. We've attended them and they are a lot of fun. For more information, visit their
web site or call them at (714) 535-7000.
Norton Auctioneers offers auctions, usually from amusement parks, halloween fun-houses, and other tourist attractions that are going out of business.
Besides the usual lists of suspects above and eBay, classice machines occasionally show up at Sothebys, Christies, Skinner Auctions, Bonhams, and countless other auction houses.
The Chicagoland Show is the largest event for people interested in the older machines. We travel from Los Angeles for nearly every show (April and November). It isn't worth flying in if you are just interested in videogames and pinball machines. We actively hunt for older machines, and enjoy seeing many members from the Coin-Operated Collectors Association.
Replay Magazine hosts a calendar of events geared toward the commercial side of the amusement
entertainment industry (trade shows, etc.)
Buyers should always be aware that coin-operated amusement machines offered at auction are almost always sold "as is" -- machines may be broken,
damaged or in need of repair, often in ways that aren't immediately apparent. We advise caution when bidding on items at auctions -- examine everything
thoroughly and know what you're buying. In our opinion, pinball machines often require the most caution at an auction, as to the uninitiated problems may not be immediately obvious (like key playfield accessories missing or non-working). Also requiring care would be antique machines of particularly high value, since condition and originality may play significantly it an item's actual value.

Additional Upcoming Events - Coin-Operated Video Games, Pinballs, and other modern machines
US Amusement Auctions holds auctions selling similar amusement items in Indiana,
Ohio, and New Jersey. We have not attended their auctions so I can't tell you much about them.
Auction Game Sales offers auctions
of amusement machines in Pennsylvania, North Carolina, Tennessee, and Texas. Their web site has traditionally been non-helpful, though recently seems to have gotten a little better. Again, we know absolutely nothing about them other than what we see on the web site.
Additional Upcoming Events - Machines of a (usually) more vintage variety
Notes
Victorian Casino Antiques holds auctions in Las Vegas at least twice a year. Their auctions are a lot of fun and they tend to be very strong in antique coin-operated machines and related collectibles. We try to go everytime. Their auctions generally do not have any coin-operated videogames and only a minimal amount of pinball machines as they tend to focus on earlier machines.
Showtime Auctions has some coin-op machines on a regular basis and tends to be very strong on "Old West Collectibles". Focusing on antique and classic collectibles, this is another place you won't find videogames and other modern collectibles. Their catalogs tend to be the very impressive (I wonder what their printer's bills are like?).
Randy Inman's Auctions has held a number of auctions in the past where we have found some real treasures. His web site seemed to be down the day we are updating this page, and we are not sure if he is still in business or not.
Other Gameroom Calendars Online:
Gameroom Magazine, a fine publication, maintains an extensive list of coin-op shows and auctions.
