Cheats, Tricks and Bugs

Throughout the game you can find hidden items such as weapons and life-ups in crates and inside secret rooms. Some more zombies are also hidden in secret rooms and crates too. Also, in the very begining of the game there is a girl you can rescue. If you rescue her she will be alive when you beat the game. However, if you don't save her she will become a zombie.

Game Introduction

You go around seven different levels fighting many zombies and a total of eleven bosses. This game is very violent and is also tough to beat.

Game Play

A two-player game where you move from level to level fighting man-eating zombies along the way. This game is basically a combination of Die Hard Arcade and The House Of The Dead. The gameplay is identical to Die Hard Arcade but you fight zombies, not terrorists and it takes place in The House Of The Dead like settings.

You can pick-up many different weapons to fight the zombies including a variety of guns, flamethrowers, axes, and a drill. Also, if you make it to level six, you will fight inside and outside of the same house from the first stage of The House Of The Dead.

VAPS Arcade Census

GAMES OWNED, WANTED, or FOR SALE BY MEMBERS OF THE VIDEO ARCADE PRESERVATION SOCIETY

Uncommon - There are 18 known instances of Zombie Revenge owned by one of our 900 members. Of these, 2 of them are original dedicated machines, it is a conversion in which game circuit boards (and possibly cabinet graphics) have been placed in (and on) another game cabinet, and 15 of them are only circuit boards which a collector could put into a generic case if desired.

Of the 57,121 video games (3,420 unique) tracked by the Video Game Preservation Society, this game ranks a 7 on a scale out of 100 (100 = most commonly seen, 1=least common) in popularity based on ownership records.

Wanted - We currently do not know of any VAPS members that have gotten around to adding this game to their wish list. The wish-list system is fairly new (not all VAPS members have filled one out) and there are probably a number of collectors who might purchase this game if offered one at the right price.

Rarity is NOT necessarily an indication of value. Some common games show up as very rare here because collectors don't want them (they are common because arcade operators might be sitting on tons of them in warehouses), while some fairly scarce games are grabbed by collectors every time they show up. Additionally, some games made in the last 5 years are still making money for operators and are thus not yet affordable to the typical collector. For a clue to value, compare how many people have this game vs. how many people want this game and then click on the eBay links to help determine an accurate price range.

Technical

This game contains a DIP switch that was also used in The House Of The Dead 2. It lets you change the color of the blood to either red or green to lower the violence level a little bit.

Trivia

This game was originally called Blood Bullet and was then renamed Zombies Nightmare before Sega deceided on the name Zombie Revenge. This game also serves as a spinoff to Sega's popular The House Of The Dead series.
