Description

Fight off hordes of robotic fishlike creatures in this modern installment of the Darius series.The cabinet uses a double wide screen format like the first Darius games but now with 2 32 LCD screens given the widescreen look with angled glass. It also is the first and only Darius game that supports four players simultaneously. The game was built around coop play powerups are shared as well as lives. Some levels in Chronicle Mode can only be played with 2 or more players. The game also makes use of a Burst Laser which can dispatch large groups of enemies in two ways. The player can either hold down the Burst button for a short but powerful blast or by double tapping the button they can lay down a Fixed burst laser you can independently control. With practice the fixed burst becomes a very helpful component in the game.Like previous Darius games, this has an excellent soundtrack produced for it by ZUNTATA.The cabinet also employs a powerful subwoofer system into the seat.There are two modes of play, Original Mode and Chronicle Mode. Original mode is like the original game where you have branching paths to choose with different endings to reach. Chronicle Mode is a vast collection of levels around 2048 where goals must be met to liberate an area. Liberating areas leads to unlockable content and it is all saved to the machine so that it takes a community effort to unlock all of the levels there are.The game was released first in Japan in 2010 but was subsequently released in very limited quantities in the US and Europe in 2011 and 2012.
