Real Ghost Busters, The DescriptionUp to three players, each assuming the role of a Ghostbuster, run around a top-down universal scrolling terrain, shooting creatures while trying to suck up ghosts with their plasma guns.Know anything more about this game? Cabinet InformationThis game features a half-panel side art sticker featuring the animated characters and the familiar "no ghosts" Ghostbusters logo. The marquee is curved, like many of Data East's other games of the era (e.g. Bad Dudes), and the control panel featured equally spaced controls (right, center, and left) with a Ghostbusters logo above the center controls. A two-player conversion kit with a flat marquee also exists.Game IntroductionAdapted from the animated cartoon of the same name. Up to three players, each controlling a Ghostbuster, must run around a top-down universal scrolling terrain, shoot creatures and then try to suck up ghosts with their plasma guns. Players can shoot and then collect various power-ups, including a protective Aura, shot and beam boosters, and a "Green Ghost" Slimer shield sattelite. Has interesting screen transition effects and a well-orchestrated version of the movie's popular theme song.VAPS Arcade CensusGAMES OWNED, WANTED, or FOR SALE BY MEMBERS OF THE VIDEO ARCADE PRESERVATION SOCIETYUncommon - There are 19 known instances of Real Ghost Busters, The owned by one of our 3,650 members who participate in our machine census project. Rarity is NOT necessarily an indication of value. Some common games show up as very rare here because collectors don't want them (they are common because arcade operators might be sitting on tons of them in warehouses), while some fairly scarce games are grabbed by collectors every time they show up. Additionally, some games made in the last 5 years are still making money for operators and are thus not yet affordable to the typical collector. For a clue to value, compare how many people have this game vs. how many people want this game and then click on the eBay links to help determine an accurate price range. TechnicalThe PCB is actually two PCBs connected with spacers. The DIP switch settings are similar to those found on Bad Dudes and Robocop. There is no free play mode. The volume control is a small white knob on the top PCB, threaded for use with a Philips screwdriver. The two-player model/conversion kit uses a standard JAMMA pinout. eBay ListingsClick here to automatically search eBay's Arcade, Jukebox, and Pinball categories for the Real Ghost Busters, The Videogame machine and items related to it.Click here to automatically search eBay's Arcade, Jukebox, and Pinball categories for machines and parts made by Data East .
