Game Play

The premise behind the game is fairly odd. An alien virus has infected the planet, animating the dead and creating pockets of zombies, for lack of a better term, from different eras in history. You start in the stone age, dealing with dinosaurs, move on to the bronze age and so forth, ending in the modern era.One of the things that made the game unique for its time was the duck and roll button that caused your character to do just that to avoid damage. You had access to a variety of weapons ranging from pistol to shotgun to assault rifle and more. If I recall correctly, you even had access to grenades.

Trivia

"I have played this particular game to its end on many an occasion, and I can tell you why it is rare. If the owner of the arcade I used to hang out at is any indication, then any arcade owner that got to see the third ending Yes, it has three more than likely had the game removed. Even today, 20 years later, the third ending for that game stands out in my mind. It was the first time I had ever seen an entire room shocked into silence. You have a time limit when it comes to defeating the final boss. If you do so in the time aloted, you get a shot of the main character and his wife and daughter looking down at a purified earth from the space station they were living on. If the boss defeats you, standard fade-to-black scene. However, if you take too long and the timer runs out before you defeat the third boss which actually takes some doing, dodging damage for that long is actually quite difficult and the boss is not all that hard to kill with the right weapons. I ended up doing it because I made it to the final boss with nothing but a pistol and it took forever to kill him then you get the third ending...It starts with the victory scene done from a slightly different angle, then focuses on the earth which goes from healed back to infected. Then the view pans back and you see the that heroes wife and young daughter are now both infected with the virus. The screen fades to black and you hear two gunshots in rapid succession followed shortly after by a third. This gruesome audio scene ends with the sound of the final spent cartridge bouncing on the floor. While this scene would only be mildly amusing to todays GTA players, 20 years ago it was enough to shock an entire arcade into stunned silence and cause the owner to have the game removed that night."
