Space Duel DescriptionColor vector game where player's ship shoots colored geometric shaped "asteroids", mines, enemy ships, and opposing player's ship. A bonus wave adds a multiplyer to the player's score when all bonus objects are shot.Know anything more about this game? Cabinet Information8 color artwork is silk-screened directly onto the sides and depicts the player's ships battling several other mines and ships.Game IntroductionThis game is a two-player color version of Asteroids. It has two different modes of play: competitive and team. In competitive mode, each player competes for points. Players can shoot each other for bonus points, but they don't lose a ship. In team mode, the two players are attached together by a "filament". Each player's ship can move and shoot independently while still being attached.MiscellaneousPlay a JAVA emulated version of the game by visiting http://web.utanet.at/nkehrer/JSpaceDuel.htmlVAPS Arcade CensusGAMES OWNED, WANTED, or FOR SALE BY MEMBERS OF THE VIDEO ARCADE PRESERVATION SOCIETYVery Common - There are 177 known instances of Space Duel owned by one of our 900 members. Of these, 161 of them are original dedicated machines, and 16 of them are only circuit boards which a collector could put into a generic case if desired. Wanted - Very Popular - There are 14 VAPS members currently looking for Space Duel. For Sale - There are 11 VAPS members with Space Duel machines for sale. VAPS members are totally independent of VAPS and the International Arcade Museum, and we are unable to recommend, endorce, or guarantee any person or company selling games or game parts. Rarity is NOT necessarily an indication of value. Some common games show up as very rare here because collectors don't want them (they are common because arcade operators might be sitting on tons of them in warehouses), while some fairly scarce games are grabbed by collectors every time they show up. Additionally, some games made in the last 5 years are still making money for operators and are thus not yet affordable to the typical collector. For a clue to value, compare how many people have this game vs. how many people want this game and then click on the eBay links to help determine an accurate price range. TriviaThe game appears on the album cover of It's Hard by the Who. The was possibly the first video game to make it onto an album cover.eBay ListingsClick here to automatically search eBay's Arcade, Jukebox, and Pinball categories for the Space Duel Videogame machine and items related to it.Click here to automatically search eBay's Arcade, Jukebox, and Pinball categories for machines and parts made by Atari.
