Irritating Maze, The DescriptionManeuver yourself through colorful and difficult mazes within a time limit. Do not touch the walls!Know anything more about this game? Cabinet InformationThe original dedicated cabinets for this game were quite elaborateConversionThe game runs on typical Neo Geo hardware, but cannot be converted to other Neo Geo games because of the special BIOS used for the trackball rod.Game PlayThe idea is simple: move through the mazes before time runs out. This is not as easy as it sounds, though. Except for Practice Mode, you cannot touch the walls. The maze is not stationary and moving obstacles such as windmills, moving walls, and even a railcar will try to block your every move. The maze is made even more Irritating by the air jets that will blast the player when they fail.MiscellaneousThe game features the general advisory (not the parental advisory) warning that appears in all Gigapower Neo Geo games set in USA mode. People that have epileptic disorders and women that are pregnant are warned not to play this game during the intro (the air jets that follow player-errors are very startling).VAPS Arcade CensusGAMES OWNED, WANTED, or FOR SALE BY MEMBERS OF THE VIDEO ARCADE PRESERVATION SOCIETYUncommon - There are 15 known instances of Irritating Maze, The owned by one of our 900 members. Rarity is NOT necessarily an indication of value. Some common games show up as very rare here because collectors don't want them (they are common because arcade operators might be sitting on tons of them in warehouses), while some fairly scarce games are grabbed by collectors every time they show up. Additionally, some games made in the last 5 years are still making money for operators and are thus not yet affordable to the typical collector. For a clue to value, compare how many people have this game vs. how many people want this game and then click on the eBay links to help determine an accurate price range. TriviaThis is the first Neo Geo game that requires a trackball for player input. The game was based on a popular Japanese game show, called "Dengeki Iraira Bou", or "Electric Irritating Stick," where the point was to move a metal rod through a moving electrified maze for cash prizes. The MVS dedicated cabs added the addition of air jets that punished the player for their errors.eBay ListingsClick here to automatically search eBay's Arcade, Jukebox, and Pinball categories for the Irritating Maze, The Videogame machine and items related to it.Click here to automatically search eBay's Arcade, Jukebox, and Pinball categories for machines and parts made by SNK/Saurus.
